Ray McDonald Released By 49ers Amidst Rape Investigation [UPDATE]

The San Jose police got a call from a local hospital alerting them to a possible sexual assault, and that led to the warrant being executed. We’ll note that the search warrant alone being carried out at his house doesn’t mean he is the target. However, though no details are provided, at least according to ABC 7, “[t]he preliminary investigation revealed the alleged suspect was Ray McDonald.” Ray McDonald was of course previously involved in a domestic assault investigation , was never de-activated by the 49ers, and was ultimately not charged by the local police (though that was complicated by being the first on scene).
